That was the spirit behind the No Kings 2 Democracy Fair, held in Palo Alto on October 18, 2025.
Organized by Indivisible Mid-Peninsula, Indivisible Palo Alto Plus, Indivisible Portola Valley, and It’s Blue Turn—with dozens more groups taking part—the fair offered concrete, specific actions that each of us can take to resist autocracy and defend democracy. Below, you’ll find more ways to get involved and take the next step with these organizations.

It's Blue Turn Indivisible advances our democracy by driving electoral change, protecting access and ability to vote, fighting disinformation, supporting Democratic party infrastructure in rural districts, and generally resisting Trump's destruction of America. they welcome newbies and introverts, and anyone within driving distance of Mountain View, CA (they have members from Gilroy to Napa)! They host weekly and monthly events in person, they take direct action at protests and rallies, they celebrate wins and discuss the best way forward.
Action 1: Canvass for Yes on Prop 50 — spend a half day knocking on doors and talking with voters.
Action 2: Table at local farmers’ markets to explain why Yes on Prop 50 matters.
Action 3: Join an action team and receive up-to-date action items you can do from home to support the LGBTQ+ community.
Action 4: Canvass local businesses about ICE rights and display signs supporting immigrants, see the Signs of Solidarity toolkit.
Action 5: Donate to Faith in Action’s Immigration Fund & help families impacted by ICE detention and deportation.
Indivisible Mid-Peninsula protects our democracy by resisting the MAGA agenda, pushing for equity and justice at all levels of government, supporting vulnerable communities, and building grassroots power to achieve electoral victories in 2025 and beyond. Immigrant Rights Action Team leads volunteer efforts to inform, advocate for and protect our immigrant neighbors impacted by anti-immigrant ICE activity.

Action 4: Join anti-ICE bannering on the Hwy 101 overcrossing near 3600 West Bayshore Rd every Wednesday, 8 – 10 AM.
Indivisible Palo Alto Plus is a joyful, action-driven community defending democracy on the SF Peninsula and beyond. They unite diverse voices and use laughter, creativity, and connection to sustain momentum in the long, hard work of resisting authoritarianism. Immigrant Rights Action Team mobilizes volunteers to stand with immigrants, raising awareness and pushing back against harmful ICE activity. Defund Broligarchy teaches how our consumer choices shape democracy and help to switch to safer, more ethical alternatives.
Action: Plug into local canvasses, letter writing, and election work with our PV team.
Indivisible Portola Valley is an informal association of residents of Portola Valley, CA and nearby communities who are dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions within our constitutional republic.
Action 1: Join our local team: help staff events, create content, or manage social media.
Action 2: Use Palo Alto’s rebate to replace your gas water heater and save with federal incentives.
350SV Palo Alto Climate Action is a climate group focused on meaningful local action, educating about clean, efficient electric appliances and advocating for tools, including incentives, from our City Council to make this green transition easier.
Action 1: Phone bank to Virginia from home to mobilize voters of color and protect democracy.
Action 2: Join our Thursday briefing to learn about voter suppression and outreach in the South.
Center for Common Ground is a non-partisan, Black- and women-led voting rights organization empowering voters of color across the South. Partnering with local groups, it works to ensure every voter knows their power and participates in democracy.
Action 1: Sign the petition thanking the governor for signing the California Fair Elections Act.
Action 2: Join our updates — attend Activist Zooms and follow up on calls to action for fair, transparent elections.
California Clean Money Campaign has fought for 25 years to reduce the influence of money in politics. Their work helped place the California Fair Elections Act on the 2026 ballot to allow public campaign financing statewide. They’ve also advanced key disclosure laws requiring political ads, texts, and initiatives to reveal their top funders, ensuring voters know who is behind every campaign.
Action: Volunteer with us to help neighbors rise out of poverty and strengthen our community.
Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County serves and advocates for individuals and families in need, helping people of all cultures and beliefs achieve self-sufficiency and wellness through compassion, direct service, and systemic change.
Action 1: Join our Prop 50 phone banks and canvassing to help turn out key voters.
Action 2: Write letters and postcards to voters to make an impact from home.
The Democratic Volunteer Center provides space, resources, and training for volunteers and groups working to elect Democrats, pass progressive initiatives, and strengthen civic engagement in our community.
Action 1: Report violations of church-state separation in schools or government agencies to our local or national FFRF.
Action 2: Attend or organize protests before governing bodies, such as school boards or city councils, when religion intrudes into public institutions.
Freedom From Religion Foundation works to keep religion out of government. FFRF's attorneys write letters to violators and file lawsuits. It conducts educational and PR campaigns and DC lobbying, and engages youth through scholarships and essay contests.
Action 1: Sign up for our newsletter to learn about events that celebrate diversity and promote social awareness.
Action 2: Volunteer with us to help educate and empower youth for a stronger, more inclusive future.
Justice Vanguard empowers youth and communities through education, storytelling, and engagement, providing tools and confidence for young leaders to drive lasting social change.
Action 1: Tell Senators to oppose the SAVE Act.
Action 2: Urge Congress to stand for democracy.
The League of Women Voters of Palo Alto is a nonpartisan group empowering informed voting and civic engagement. LWV Palo Alto educates voters, advocates on public policy, and organizes events to strengthen democracy. Membership is open to all 16+.
Action: Stand up for democracy & join neighbors each Sunday at 10:30 AM in Fremont Park to march through the Farmers Market and show visible support for democratic values.
Menlo Park Speaks Out unites first-time and seasoned protesters from all backgrounds to defend the Constitution and strengthen democracy through peaceful community action.
Action 1: Join our California chapter’s Facebook group to connect with local volunteers and events.
Action 2: Text READY to 644-33 to demand lawmakers take action to end gun violence.
Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures to prevent gun violence. We work for stronger gun laws, responsible gun ownership, and safer communities for all families.
Action 1: Join Peaceful Presence gatherings for multifaith prayers for peace and justice on the 11th of every month at 7pm, hosted by different local faith communities.
Action 2: Attend film screening & discussion with filmmaker Sun Nov 2, 5–7pm: "There is Another Way" — a documentary about Combatants for Peace, Israelis and Palestinians working together for peace.
Action 3: Sign up for our newsletter to learn about local faith-based actions for peace and justice, incl. faith-based accompaniment opportunities for immigrant justice.
Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice consists of local congregations & individuals coming together from diverse faith & spiritual traditions to put our convictions into action by saying NO to hate and violence and YES to peace, justice and human dignity for all.
Action: Help educate voters and support outreach in all 50 states — get started.
National Voter Corps educates voters and policymakers on voting rights, shares free resources, promotes a 50-state map of nonpartisan orgs, and supports outreach, election protection, and fair administration.
Action 1: Support our ongoing fight for equal rights: join or donate to sustain over a century of advocacy.
Action 2: Join the Education Committee: help ensure equitable access to quality education for all students.
Action 3: Join the “Our Time Is Now” Power Hour: phonebank and text voters nationwide to defend democracy.
The NAACP has fought for over a century to secure civil rights, equality, and justice for all Americans, continuing today through activism, education, and community organizing.
Action: Sign up for updates to stay informed about single-payer news, events, and advocacy opportunities.
The Santa Clara County Single-Payer Health Care Coalition is an all-volunteer organization working toward a universal, guaranteed single-payer healthcare system—“Expanded and Improved Medicare for All.”
Action 1: Attend the Glimmer of Hope Gala Nov. 15: join allies and advocates for an inspiring evening supporting immigrant and refugee rights.
Action 2: Volunteer with SIREN’s Bay Area Team: help with outreach, advocacy, and community empowerment.
SIREN empowers immigrants and refugees through education, legal services, civic engagement, and policy advocacy to build a just and inclusive America where all people are valued and protected.
Action 1: Join Sister District!
Action 2: Call voters in Virginia for the Nov. 4 election and keep Democrats in control.
Sister District directly supports Democrats to put them in control of state legislatures to protect our fundamental rights, most of which are governed by the states, not the federal government: everything from abortion to voting rights and elections.
Action 1: Join our 8th rally at Lytton Plaza (Palo Alto) on Oct 31, 12:30–1:30pm (costumes optional, as is march after speeches and music).
Action 2: Write your alma mater’s president to defend academic freedom—use our draft letter and recruit 10 alumni to do the same.
Stand Up for Science and Sanity is a Silicon Valley–based group formed in 2025 to oppose cuts to NIH and attacks on the CDC, FDA, NASA, EPA, and more, and to defend health care, democracy, the rule of law, and academic freedom.
SVAPADC was founded in 1996 to foster member participation at all levels of the Democratic Party. Its goals are to unify and empower Asian Pacific American communities, ensure fair representation, and promote civic education and political participation.
Action 1: Write letters to voters to help boost turnout for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court election.
Action 2: Knock on doors and talk with Democrats about voting Yes on Prop 50.
Swing Left Peninsula works to elect Democrats in close races, often in CA, NV, and AZ. They focus on high-impact volunteer efforts like canvassing, calling, writing, and fundraising. New and experienced activists are welcome.
Action 1: Elect Zohran Mamdani in NYC — make calls and support racial and economic justice campaigns.
Action 2: Join a local SURJ circle — take part in our solidarity campaign and help shape ongoing strategy.
Showing Up for Racial Justice organizes white communities to act for racial and economic justice, believing white people have a key role in building a world where everyone can thrive.
Action 1: Attend our Town Hall in Berkeley on October 19 for a post–No Kings Day discussion.
Action 2: Join a local meeting in Palo Alto or San Francisco/East Bay to stay involved.
Action 3: Take a newsletter and share it with friends and family to spread the message.
Speak Out Now is an activist organization building a more democratic and equitable world through collective action. We focus on workplaces, distribute newsletters, and hold forums on issues like racism, climate change, and immigrant rights.
Action 1: Volunteer for the Yes on Prop 50 campaign: join GOTV efforts to defend democracy and stop election hijacking.
Action 2: Donate to support voter outreach in key states like CA, NJ, PA, and VA to boost turnout and protect democracy.
They See Blue is an all-volunteer organization mobilizing South Asian Americans to vote Democratic through postcards, media, phone and text banking, and door-to-door outreach across 25 chapters nationwide.
Action: If you’re 16 or 17,
pre-register to vote in California and be ready to participate in local democracy.
Vote16 Palo Alto is a youth-led group advocating to lower the voting age in local elections, empowering teens as civic participants and helping build lifelong democratic engagement.
Action 1: Attend our silent vigil every Friday, noon-1pm at the corner of El Camino & Embarcadero in Palo Alto.

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) a feminist, pacifist, and antimilitarist peacebuilding movement active in 40+ countries. It was founded in 1915; our Peninsula/Palo Alto branch -- in 1922. WILPF amplifies women’s voices for peace, justice, and equality through global collaboration.
